Carbon dioxide wine opener, it’s easier than using any type of corkscrew so they say, but there are some downsides to this product, the kind of downsides that form a very steep incline in usability of the device. I have used a Cork pops original, the small plastic one which comes with so many colors, can’t say I was entirely satisfied with it, and I wonder if this Cork Pops Legacy would be a better buy than the original.

The first test I put this device through right after the box, was to see if it could open 1.5 liter bottles or anything above 750ml, to my dissatisfaction it does not. It’s not the openers fault, it is a case of the canisters being too small, a larger canister would provide adequate pressure to send a 750ml bottle right off the cork and a 1.5 liter bottle smoothly of its own, but I guess the company which made this was thinking about the hazards of an over powered opener being used on a small bottle.
The Cork Pops Legacy is sturdier and safer looking than the original one; this at least has its needle between two guards, so no accidents with this one. The button on the top is nothing troublesome, just a simple push to get the air out.
The canisters this uses are obviously the expensive carbon dioxide canisters that are sold by cork pops; they are definitely monopolizing the market with these things. The canisters don’t last long, although it says 60 bottles, you could expect at about only 40 being entirely uncorked before it runs dry. And also to point out clearly just in case some of you haven’t seen the review I made about the original, a burst of carbon dioxide does not affect the qualities of your wine, as carbon dioxide does not diffuse well into liquids (ah ha! I have done my studies you see!)
I still use this opener when I feel like it, especially when I am feeling entirely lazy to manually open a bottle, or go down to the cellar to visit my table top opener. So get this Cork Pops Legacy Wine Opener for those who love gadgets and are not fond of large bottles of wine.

A gas powered wine opener, innovative or entirely novel? Well I have never tried on before so I decided to give it look, and after using it for awhile here is what I have to say about this unique Cork Pops Original Wine Bottle Opener.

Cork Pops Original Wine Bottle Opener comes in an array of vibrant colors, but it would look entirely ridiculous to have on in pink or green, I went for the black one which would fit well with dark red wine, and even tinted clear bottles of white wine; the color was just based towards my liking rather than any professional consideration.
The unit itself is a rod, with a compartment built in it which fits a miniature gas cylinder, and at the bottom end is a sleeve that you can remove to reveal the needle which you will have to drive in to the cork
Being something entirely new to me, I was debating with myself whether I have been handling and using the tool properly, well apparently it is as simple as it seems, all I had to do was stick the needle bit into the cork, this needle is extra long which allows you to reach right trough many lengths of corks, after the needle has found its way into the bottle you just have to press the top button which will force a jet of compressed air out of the cylinder, driving the cork up and out of the bottle.
A question came up in the back of my head, I was wondering if the gas that is shot into the bottle would affect the taste of the wine, if it did then that would be disastrous, but after testing and comparing, it seems there is a slight after taste but it is barely noticeable, this is thanks to the fact that the canisters are filled with carbon dioxide, this is natural in wine and a little aeration will get rid of the difference in taste.
The description on Amazon said that one canister can open up to 60 bottles, not entirely far from the truth but it all depends on the size of your bottles, for small 750ml or lower this opener will work and use only a little bit of air, but go any higher than that and you would be better off trying to pry it open with a regular corkscrew.
The canister are surprisingly costly, it seems like cork pops wants to take advantage of their unique wine opener.
Overall this Cork Pops Original Wine Bottle Opener is very easy to use, I recommend it for small bottles, those which you wouldn’t want to trouble yourself by using corkscrews.
